NJIT - First Year Mentoring Program
Mentor U Connect seeks to support the retention and graduation of college students, especially those in STEM, who come from social-economic disadvantaged communities, where these type of social determinants serve as a barrier in their student success.
Students will be matched with a mentor (i.e. professional, upperclassmen or Alumni) who will provide engagement, guidance, and advice, exposure to the field of study, internship opportunities, and a sense of belonging. Students will build meaningful networks and develop self-awareness through 1-1 advising, webinars, and presentations to cultivate the soft skill expected in a 21st century society.
